HSC Textiles Major Work

My Major Work was inspired by natural forms and features. It is my most comprehensive piece due to the time and effort put into every detail. It is hand dyed, hand beaded and, to a great extent, hand sewn.  

Model of Gaudis' Sagrada Familiara

The structure of the Sagrada Familiara is entirely unique. Gaudi invented new structural solutions pulling from his study of natural forms. This model illustrates the intricacies in which loads were distributed along parabolic curves, hyperboloids and helecoids. I was mesmerised by this building on a trip to Spain when I was 12 and have returned twice since. I appreciate how Gaudi brought together complex engineering with detailed architecture.

Family Trip in India 

The human factor in this photograph makes this image beautiful. By the time we reached this point in this trip we had already seen the shear poverty of the country and the confounding customs.  The image is beautiful because in such abject poverty we found a moment of pure happiness.
